Terms of Business
1. Introduction
These Terms of Business set out the general framework on which MJB Accounting Solutions Ltd provides professional services.
Specific services, responsibilities, fees, and detailed terms are agreed separately in individual Engagement Letters and schedules of services issued to clients. In the event of any inconsistency, the terms set out in the Engagement Letter will take precedence.
2. About us and regulation
MJB Accounting Solutions Ltd is regulated by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and is required to comply with CIMA’s Code of Ethics and professional standards.

3. Scope of services
The scope of any services we provide is agreed in writing and confirmed in an Engagement Letter and related schedules.
We do not provide advice or services outside the agreed scope unless specifically agreed in writing. Advice should not be relied upon unless confirmed in writing and provided as part of an agreed engagement.
4. Fees and payment
Fees for our services are agreed in advance or confirmed in writing as part of the engagement process. Fees may be fixed, estimated, or charged on an hourly basis depending on the nature of the work.
All fees are exclusive of VAT, which will be added where applicable.
Detailed fee arrangements, billing schedules, and payment terms are set out in the relevant Engagement Letter.
5. Confidentiality and data protection
We treat all client information as confidential and comply with our professional and legal obligations regarding confidentiality.
We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law. Further information about how we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which should be read alongside these Terms of Business.
6. Complaints
We aim to provide a high standard of service at all times. If you have a concern or complaint, please contact us in the first instance so that we can seek to resolve the matter promptly.
If a complaint cannot be resolved to your satisfaction, you may refer the matter to our professional body, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), in accordance with their complaints procedures.
7. Limitation of liability
Our services are provided with reasonable care and skill. Any limitations of liability applicable to our services are set out in the Engagement Letter agreed with the client.
We do not accept responsibility or liability to third parties unless expressly agreed in writing.
8. Governing law
Our engagement with clients and these Terms of Business are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
9. Updates to these terms
These Terms of Business may be updated from time to time. The current version published on our website reflects the general terms applicable to our services, subject always to the specific terms agreed in individual Engagement Letters.
